QuestionsWindow tint shade questions
Which shade is legal on a car in Pennsylvania?
On cars, every window must let at least 70% of light through. On SUVs, trucks and vans, the back side windows and rear glass can be any darkness.
Which shade do most people choose?
35% is the popular middle shade in Union’s range. It suits the back glass of an SUV, truck or van; on a car, Pennsylvania asks for 70%.
Does a darker shade keep more heat out?
Not by itself. The film does most of that work: Union Ceramic IR blocks up to 87% of infrared heat even in a light shade, and Carbon IR up to 75%.
